Hibiscus Syriacus is a medium to large, deciduous shrub which grows upright and vase-shaped between 2m – 4m tall in height. Lobed leaves appear in late spring with large trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of pink, red, blue and white with prominent yellow-stamens. 

Individual flowers are short-lived, lasting only a day. However, numerous buds produced on the shrub’s new growth provide prolific flowering over a long summer period.

The Hibiscus Syriacus plant should be grown in moist but well-drained and organically rich soil in a sunny position.

It is also known as Korean Rose and Rose Mallow in the United Kingdom and is the national flower of South Korea.
