Plant of the month - Cornus Kousa - Garden Care

Plant of the month – Cornus Kousa

Cornus kousa (Japanese/Chinese Dogwood) typically flowers from late spring to early summer, generally in May, June, and sometimes into July. It produces a profusion of white or creamy-white bracts that last for several weeks, often turning pinkish as they mature.

Cornus Kousa is a small bushy tree to 7m tall, with oval leaves turning reddish-purple in autumn, and tight clusters of small white flowers surrounded by four large oval cream bracts and followed by strawberry-like deep pink fruit clusters.
