Prunus ‘Amanogawa’

This Prunus is a very slender flowering cherry tree ideal for small gardens.

It is a compact, usually multi-stemmed cherry tree, it has large clusters of fragrant, semi double pale pink blossoms which smother the branches in late spring.

This prunus will thrive in any soil, but it does need a lot of sunshine in order to flower well. When planting this Prunus, it is ideal to incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting hole and stake firmly. To prune, I recommend doing it lightly in summer to retain the shape and cut back any dead, diseased or crossing branches.
